Hi there!
Are you one of the 90% of normal humans who think ‘I can’t do yoga because I’m not flexible enough’? Have you been to classes and felt excluded, judged or that you just didn’t fit in?
There are plenty of utterly lovely people and studios in the yoga world, but sadly there is also a LOT of cliquey-ness, aloofness and underlying pressure to fit in or compete. And plenty of opportunity to feel like a failure because you can’t sit on the floor comfortably, let alone make some of the daft shapes the Western yoga world seems to revolve around.
The thing I strive for is to make my classes truly accessible and open to all. I’m sure I don’t always succeed and it’s a continued learning process for me too. And I know that it will even put some people off. But I can only teach what I feel is right. So I believe in offering an antidote to intimidating yoga classes, a space where you feel safe to explore body, breath and mind, secure enough to go within and really ‘be’ with yourself, an opportunity to spend a precious hour discovering pure awareness.
When I teach, the emphasis is on what feels right for YOU, not anybody else. I’m happiest if I see variations in the class, as I know it means people feel safe enough to move in a way that suits them, in that moment.

Studio classes
Coolhurst Tennis Club, Crouch End N8
TUESDAY 12PM / THURSDAY 6.30PM - (All welcome, may especially suit over 40s)
These classes are open to all, especially those NOT looking for a super high impact, gym-style class! We move mindfully through a set of postures (never identical), with emphasis on doing what feels right for YOU and nobody else.
Expect to leave the class feeling stretched and lighter, yet more grounded, both physically and mentally, and hopefully to have a laugh along the way!

“I had been looking for the right class for some time. You were it in every way. Your style of yoga is exactly what I like and your lovely sense of humour and the joy you bring to the class makes it a very special experience. The people in the Coolhurst class reflect this - they are a lovely, warm bunch who really care. In the past no one greeted me when I walked into a class. Your classes are friendly, welcoming and warm and always varied, with a lot of fun and some good, old hard work too. They are very freeing. ” - Lisa G
“Really enjoyed those special mornings of yoga and nature (birds, doggies, trees, sky!) and look forward to the class beginning again next spring. Thank you Sue.” - Sally
“Thank you for making me feel at ease and my first experience of real life yoga classes so welcoming. I never would’ve braved a class a year ago…and you made me feel comfortable so I came back!” - Lisa
